ESL was recently approached by Matinée Sound and Vision (Matinée), a new media communications company, to help them develop a web-based solution for distributing presentation tools and structuring them within a presentation. The Matinée On-line Presenter has now been launched by the company and enables customers to get their presentation materials from one central source to create and publish presentations to any recipient on the Internet. Key benefits of the Matinée On-line Presenter include a free to download ‘Drag and Drop’ media editor. This enables users to build a bespoke presentation using preview screens and a timeline. Users can download media via a standard modem or network connection and media clips can be streamed for on-line preview. In Presentation mode the system will deliver a fully coherent presentation with quarter screen video alongside full screen slides and animation. Resources can then be reordered using the timeline. The content is downloaded to the local PC, and is available when the user disconnects, enabling them to make presentations whenever they choose. Presenters can also invite guests to a ‘virtual’ meeting to discuss presentation content over the phone, with simultaneous presentation content being viewed on host and client PCs. Guests are invited onto the system via a password, and linked to the Matinée host server from where they can download the editor interface. Matinée’s Managing Director, Chris Broderick, said: “The On-line Presenter is essentially what our customers have been telling us they really want. It delivers the ability to manage a complete presentation solution on-line. “We can convert our clients’ existing media into file types suitable for streaming down a standard modem connection, as well as creating new media such as music, images and flash animations.
